Celebrate the national food and nutrition conscious "Balanced Nutrition" - Remember the guidelines for healthy food with the slogan '4 healthy 5 perfect' who has long played in our ears? Yes, this is a slogan associated with nutrition first popularized by Prof. Poerwo Soedarmo in the 1950s.

4 healthy 5 perfect slogan at that time referring to the slogan 'basic four' in America that was created in the 1940s. Basic four itself is intended to prevent the American diet tends to much fat, high sugar and less fiber.

However, the results of a survey conducted in 1970 showed that the diet has not been able to improve diet community with increasing degenerative diseases associated with the nutrition. Finally, the slogan 'Basic Four' updated to "Nutrition Guide for Balance Diet" with the pyramid symbol.

It is not much different in Indonesia, 4 healthy 5 perfect guidance is no longer deemed in accordance with the development of science and technology.

After some lengthy deliberation process, new in 2009 4 healthy 5 perfect slogan changed into Balanced Nutrition Guidelines (PGS). Officially, PGS is listed in Health Act No. 36 in 2009.

Getting to Know "Balanced Nutrition"

Slightly different from the guideline "four of five perfectly healthy" diet based on Balanced Nutrition Guidelines do not apply equally to everyone. Balanced nutrition will apply differently to each person based on age group, health status and physical activity.

PGS emphasizes diet based on the type of food, the proportion of food that is tailored to the needs of the body. Not only that, PGS also advised to pay attention to important aspects beyond food such as food hygiene, physical activity and other healthy lifestyle.

Unlike the guideline 4 healthy 5 perfect, milk is no longer seen as the perfect food. Milk has long been seen as a perfect food that is capable of being the answer to the problem of nutrition.

Now, the milk has been proven not as perfect as that seen over the years. Milk is actually one source of animal protein can also be obtained through egg, fish and meat.

Therefore, in the Nutrition Guidelines for Healthy, milk protein is positioned the same as other animal groups. Even in terms of quality protein, eggs more recommended because protein digestibility is higher than with milk.
